Every electrical installation depends on connections that stay secure, and OBO Bettermann — the German manufacturer established in 1911 — groups these components in the VBS Connection and Fastening Systems segment. Alzab Algharbiyah supplies VBS junction boxes, cable glands, terminals, cable clips and fastenings, and anchors and fasteners to contractors working on MEP, civil and ELV projects across Saudi Arabia. The range is small in footprint but decisive for installation quality: correct sealing, correct termination and correct fixing determine how long a system remains maintainable. The segment is indexed under the OBO Bettermann segment hub.
Junction boxes are where cables are joined, tapped and protected. The VBS range covers the T 25, T 40 and T 60 boxes with plug-in seal for fast, repeatable assembly, and the A 8 box with terminal strip for distribution work. Plugged and sealed enclosures keep dust and moisture out of connection points, which matters in plant rooms, service shafts and industrial environments where access is restricted.
Cable glands fix and seal cable entries into enclosures. Alzab supplies metric thread glands, long metric glands for thicker walls, EMC metric glands for screened cables, and UV-resistant light grey variants for outdoor installations. Selecting the right gland protects the ingress rating of the enclosure and prevents cable strain from transferring to the termination — a common requirement on Saudi projects exposed to heat, dust and coastal humidity.
Terminals provide the actual conductor connection. The VBS range includes universal lever terminal blocks in two-pole, three-pole and five-pole versions, plus screwless terminals for eight conductors. Lever and screwless designs reduce installation time and give a consistent, inspectable connection without special tools, which supports faster commissioning on large fit-outs and simpler maintenance later.
Cable clips and fastenings secure cable runs to walls, ceilings and structures without damaging the sheath. BKS clamp clips, snap clips, click-snap clips and push-fit anchors for cable ties cover the main fixing methods, each chosen according to cable diameter, substrate and load. Used across the wider OBO fixing range, these clips keep routing orderly and support inspection during handover.
Anchors and fasteners carry the load into the base material. MMS-plus KS countersunk head ties for cable clips, OBO anchor G, plasterboard anchors and metal spreading anchors cover concrete, masonry and dry-lining substrates. Correct anchor selection avoids failures during pull-out testing and keeps installations compliant with the safety expectations applied to infrastructure and government projects in the Kingdom.
VBS components are usually ordered alongside the systems they serve. Projects that route cables in trays and trunking commonly pair this segment with KTS cable support systems and LFS cable routing systems, so fixing, support and routing come from one manufacturer.
